UMi is creating new jobs across the UK as it expands and launches new services

UMi is set to buck industry trends by creating more than a dozen new roles as it expands throughout the UK. The recruitment drive is a result of ambitious plans to launch a series of new business support and advice services across the nation.
This includes the expansion of the Get Funding service, which serves as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for businesses seeking financial resources to foster innovation and growth, and new programmes aimed at assisting businesses in adopting digital technologies.
Multiple positions are available in the North East and Yorkshire, in addition to adviser roles in Glasgow, the North West, West Midlands, and the South East.
Available positions include business funding executives, funding advisers, and business advisers with expertise in digital transformation. All roles are full-time, offering successful candidates the unique prospect of joining one of the UK's leading progressive, employee-owned enterprises.
UMi’s growth comes as ManpowerGroup’s latest UK Employment Outlook (MEOS) revealed a significant decline in employer hiring sentiment, with hiring plans for UK businesses anticipated to fall to a new low in the final quarter of 2025.
Nicki Clark OBE, Chief Executive of UMi, said: “We are pleased to be hiring across our business as we continue to increase our UK footprint.
“As the need for tailored funding solutions and digital technology adoption rises among businesses, we look forward to leveraging our expertise to make a real difference in this sector.
“To maintain our high standards of quality and responsiveness, and to continue supporting innovation and business growth nationwide, we are on the lookout for skilled business advisers, funding experts, and executives to join our team.
“It is a really exciting period for UMi, so if you are passionate about funding and business support, we would encourage you to connect with us and find out more. It may be the ideal next step for your career.”
Research from British Business Bank indicates that 60% of SMEs encounter difficulties securing appropriate funding, often due to lack of awareness regarding available finance options or uncertainty navigating the process.
UMi is confident that its latest expansion will help address this and enhance its services, by encouraging SMEs to pursue advice and funding pathways that drive growth, create jobs and contribute to a sustainable economy.
Since 2007, UMi has supported business owners in accessing over £325 million through grants and loans, attracting more than £640 million in private sector capital via its programmes.
Nicki added: “Since launching Get Funding earlier this year, we have enabled hundreds of businesses nationwide to navigate funding challenges, providing expert guidance and bespoke one-to-one support.
“This holistic approach to providing funding aligns commercial finance, grants, and investment expertise with each client’s requirements, allowing for informed decision-making and tailored funding solutions for each and every business.
“Our investment in building our physical presence across key regions of the UK will allow us to better serve businesses accessing our services. As our team grows and our reputation spreads, we anticipate an increase in the number of businesses benefitting from our financial support over the coming year.”
