The Digital Enterprise Top 100
Digital Enterprise campaign celebrates top Leeds business success
The team at UMi is excited to celebrate the achievements of the region’s stand out tech savvy and transformational businesses in the first ever Digital Enterprise Top 100 campaign in Leeds City Region. The campaign was delivered in partnership with Leeds City Council.
What is the Digital Enterprise Top 100 campaign?
Leeds City Council runs the Digital Enterprise business support unit, a two year programme which has helped over 400 Leeds-based businesses access funding and training workshops to enhance their digital skills. As part of the campaign, the Digital Enterprise Top 100 campaign showcased just a few of the businesses which made it into the top 100 list, as well as feature interviews, case studies and commentary from thought leaders and stakeholders.
The report was distributed to 5,000 key businesses, decision makers and stakeholders across nine local authorities in Yorkshire. A digital version is available for online users. A celebratory event was also organised to recognise this positive digital growth.
What did the Digital Enterprise Top 100 campaign involve?
Our content and marketing team at UMi produced a three month initiative to identify and celebrate those companies using the best of digital media and smart technology. The Top 100 campaign was promoted across partner communication channels, the digital business magazine BQ Live, UMi social media platforms and stakeholder engagement to encourage SMEs across the Leeds City Region to apply for a place in the Digital Enterprise Top 100.
How were businesses shortlisted for the Digital Enterprise Top 100 report?
As part of the campaign submission process, businesses were asked to demonstrate their capabilities around innovation and digital transformation. These were then assessed by a panel of experts - Muz Mumtaz, Digital Enterprise Programme Manager; Helen Goldthorpe, Associate at Shulmans (sponsor); Richard Brook, Digital Enterprise’s Digital Growth Advisor; Edd Grinham, Exa Networks Limited’s Marketing Manager (sponsor); and Bryan Hoare, UMi Commercial Director. From the 502 entries received from across Leeds City Region, the panel shortlisted 118 and then selected their top 100.
Muz Mumtaz, Programme Manager at Digital Enterprise, said: “The Digital Enterprise Top 100 has identified some remarkable businesses from a wide array of industries. Their investment in new technology has had a really positive impact on helping them to grow, creating jobs and prosperity for the Leeds City Region.”
Mark Cowgill, Co-Founder & Director at Exa Networks, commented “When we heard about the Digital Enterprise Top 100 we were keen to be involved in it as much as we could. It’s fantastic. Anything that can raise the awareness of the importance of digital for all sectors can only be a good thing".
