Crook-based photographer captures social media success

Photographer Ritchie Coatsworth, who owns his own studio in Crook, saw enquiries flood in within hours of attending a Digital Drive County Durham social media workshop.

Specialising in family portraits and wedding storytelling, Ritchie has been using Facebook successfully as part of his business activities for a number of years, making the most of his photos and videos to maximise the visual appeal of his social media presence.

He joined a group of small businesses at a Social Media Advertising masterclass in Consett to explore how he could boost his presence even further and encourage more enquiries for his service.

Speaking after the class, Ritchie said:

“It was really interesting and made me alter how I was dealing with my social media advertising by trying different things.

“I set up a live campaign during the session for my photography business and I’d had my first enquiry via it before I’d even got home. Highly recommend!”

The class, delivered by social media expert Nicola Little, was part of the Digital Drive County Durham programme, providing fully funded digital support and advice for small businesses across County Durham.

Nicola said:

“We'd had a really productive training day and the way the Digital Drive programme is set up ensures delegates can practically implement what they learn as they're going.

“Ritchie set up a new advertising campaign in the session but even I was amazed to hear about the number of enquiries he'd received by the end of the day - amazing job Ritchie!"
